Venue: SBS Reception Lounge (Common Room), School of Biological Sciences.
Guest Speaker:  BioPacific Partners, speaking on the topic: Working with Global Biotech Companies that Outsource Innovation.

BioPacific Partners has engaged with over 50 multinational companies in the health, food and agricultural sectors since its inception. In this presentation BioPacific will share its insights into how the multinationals operate and what ‘ticks the boxes’ of their teams that are charged with sourcing and evaluating external innovation.

And BioPacific Partners is also sponsoring the annual Sabre Champagne celebration that recognizes the latest cohort of MBioEnt’s who have just submitted their theses.

BioPacific Partners was founded in 2014 by Dr Andrew Kelly and Ms Margot Bethell with the aim of increasing investment from multinationals into life-science innovation generated in New Zealand and Australia. This company follows on from BioPacific Ventures, a $100M venture fund led by Andrew since 2005. BioPacific Ventures was the only venture fund in this region to specialise across the life sciences. BioPacific Partners has kept the same specialisation and has also expanded its investment focus to include collaborative research, licencing and joint ventures as well as equity investment.
