Andy Shenk, CEO UniServices, who will describe the purpose and scope of the Fund. Andy joined Auckland UniServices as CEO in 2013. For the first ten years of his career he was an academic at the University of Delaware, Yale University and U.C. Irvine before joining New Zealand company Genesis Research and Development Corporation Ltd. After seven years in research and senior management positions at Genesis, Andy moved to Fonterra where he held a variety of senior positions in research strategy, venture investment and most recently as Chief Scientist.
His talk will be supplemented by two presentations by winners from the University 2017 Velocity Programme which could be supported by the new Fund:
Jennifer Barnes on Spot Check a point of care diagnostic for infectious disease.
Neil Birrell on Hexacycle, technology for the conversion of food waste to stock or fish food.

Fale Pasifika is on the University Campus on the northern side of the Business School’s Owen Glenn Building (best parking option) at 20 Wynyard Street, Grafton. Just exit the Owen Glenn Building, head past the Fisher and Paykel Auditorium and find the Fale on your right.
University is well serviced by bus routes, and car parking is available under the University of Auckland Business School (the Owen G Glenn Building) on Grafton Rd. This is close to the Fale Pasifika.
