Parking: University is well serviced by bus routes, and car parking is available under the University of Auckland Business School (the Owen G Glenn Building) on Grafton Rd.

Guest Speaker: This month we welcome Dr. Sean Simpson- “Turning industrial waste gases into low-carbon fuels”.

Dr. Sean Simpson is a Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of LanzaTech, a global leader in gas fermentation. LanzaTech have pioneered gas fermentation for the production of low carbon fuels and chemicals from low value high volume feedstocks. Dr. Simpson has over 20 publications and 200 patents. He has received a number of awards including the 2015 US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Presidential Green Chemistry Award, the 2014 Sanitarium, NZ Innovator of the Year Award, and the 2013 Kea NZ World Class New Zealander in Science Award. He has been a Director of The ICEHOUSE Limited June 2012 – June 2014 and currently as a Director of LanzaTech NZ Ltd. Avertana Ltd, and Dotterel Ltd.  Dr. Simpson holds a PhD from York University, UK, and a Masters degree from Nottingham University, UK.
